How do I Season Carbon Steel?Updated 10 months ago
Cooking fatty proteins or with oils will continue to develop a seasoning over time. For your first seasoning, we recommend:
- Heat the pan on the stovetop on low-medium heat
- Apply an oil with a high smoke point between 400-475F like grapeseed oil or our seasoning wax
- Rub the oil into the pan using tongs and a paper towel or kitchen rag
- Let cool and repeat 2-3 times for a more thorough initial seasoning
